Introduction
Welcome to the Carhart Training site, developed in conjunction with the Eppley Institute for Parks and Public Lands at Indiana University.
The Carhart Center mission is to "preserve the values and benefits of wilderness for present and future generations by connecting agency employees and the public with their wilderness heritage through training, information, and education". These online training opportunities are provided to assist you in preparing for the traditional class that you will be attending.
Before attending your classroom course, you will need to take the two courses linked from this site: Wilderness Act and Minimum Requirements Decision Process. Courses can be taken with or without audio and each has an assessment at the end. You must score 80% or higher in order to pass the assessment. There are practices throughout the course to assist you in learning the material and prepare you for the assessment.
When you are ready, please select the course you would like to take by clicking the appropriate link.
